Precision Sewing Machine Maintenance and Repair

Services and prices below are for home domestic sewing machines (lock stitch). Right now, I am not accepting any chain stitch, serger, overclockers, embroidery, longarm, or commercial machines for service. I service most mechanical and computerized domestic sewing machines. Exceptions - Bernina (only mechanical and the Virtuoso, Aurora, Arista, and Activa models). Viking (not the Epic series models).

  • Regular service is the best way to keep your machine from needing repair! Most machines should be serviced at least once a year. If you are an avid sewist or quilter, once a quarter or before starting a major project is suggested. Let me give your machine a professional detailing to keep it in good shape. The service includes removal of covers, deep clean, removal of old lubricant, fresh oil and grease as well as an inspection of motor, belts and feed system. I also check the timing, tensions and do a sewing test when complete.

    Mechanical Machine - $89

    Computerized/Electronic - $109

  • Minor tension and timing adjustment is an add-on charge to Cleaning & Lubrication. If parts need to be replaced or disassembled then it would be considered an Advanced Service.

    Tension & Timing Adjustment - $25

  • Should your machine need more than cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments, I also provide advanced repair services on a time and materials basis. I always call and email to authorize the anticipated service time and the estimated labor and material cost. Please keep in mind that I have no control over the length of time to locate and receive parts. I work as fast as possible and make my best effort to get your machine back in working order as quickly as possible. I require a $50 diagnostic fee at drop off, which will be credited to your final bill if you elect to repair. Minimum labor fee of $50.

    $75/hour fee plus parts

  • Antique Restoration can be a lengthy and expensive process. The availability of parts in the aftermarket can be difficult. Not all machines can be restored to working condition.

Please call to discuss antique machine restoration 417-714-0099.

  • Machine pickup and delivery at your home is available in our service area for an extra charge. $50
